DOJ whitewashing black racism

Why haven't national media outlets reported on the vile and violent rants of the New Black Panther Party thugs whose 2008 voter intimidation tactics got a pass from the Obama administration?

This week, Justice Department whistleblower J. Christian Adams came forward with damning public testimony about how Obama officials believe "civil rights law should not be enforced in a race-neutral manner, and should never be enforced against blacks or other national minorities."

In the wake of Adams' expose on how the Obama DOJ abandoned default judgments against the NBPP bullies for the sake of politically correct racial politics, a shocking video clip of one of the lead defendants in the Philadelphia voter intimidation case resurfaced on the Internet. It shows bloodthirsty King Samir Shabazz during a 2009 National Geographic documentary interview spewing:

"You want freedom? You're gonna have to kill some crackers! You're gonna have to kill some of their babies!"

In August 2009, nearly a year ago, I reported on a sign on display outside NBPP defendant (and elected member of Philadelphia's 14th Ward Democratic Committee) Jerry Jackson's home. It reads: "COLORED ONLY: No Whites Allowed." In July 2009, I interviewed poll watcher/witness Christopher Hill, whom Shabazz and Jackson called "cracker" several times while Shabazz brandished his baton.

"They physically attempted to block me," Hill recounted. He also saw a group of elderly ladies walk away from the polling site without voting while the duo preened in front of the entrance. "If you're a poll watcher, you shouldn't be dressed in paramilitary garb," Hill said, as he wondered aloud at what would have happened if he had showed up in the same sort of costume.

In the fall of 2008, just days before he showed up to hector white poll workers, Shabazz told the Philadelphia Inquirer:

"I'm about the total destruction of white people. I'm about the total liberation of black people. I hate white people. I hate my enemy. ... The only thing the cracker understands is violence. ... The only thing the cracker understands is gunpowder. You got to take violence to violence."

The desire to kill, subordinate and demonize white people is a staple of NBPP propaganda. An NBPP Trenton, N.J., chapter "block party" music video posted on YouTube calls on black followers to "bang for freedom," "put the bang right Fake Glashutte into a cracker's face," and "if you're going to bang, bang for black power ... hang a cracker ... if you're going to bang, bang on the white devil ... burying him near the river bank with the right shovel ... community revolution in progress ... banging for crackers to go to hell, we don't need em."

Chanting "Black Power," Minister Najee Muhammad, national field marshal for the New Black Panther Party, and Uhuru Shakur, local chairman of the Atlanta NBPP chapter, issued a pre-Election Day 2008 threat to "racists and other angry whites who are upset over an impending Barack Obama presidential victory." Said Muhammad: "Most certainly, we cannot allow these racist forces to slaughter our babies or commit other acts of violence against the black population, nor our black president."

That's rich, given that the only racists talking about slaughtering babies are the ones with New Black Panther Party patches on their puffed chests.

If a Tea Party activist threatened to kill the babies of his political opponents, it wouldn't just be front-page news. It would be the

Doing the leg work; In associa

Byline: HELEN RAE

WITH Christmas almost here and the party season on the horizon, it'll soon be time to start making sure your legs are fit to flash.

We all know the allure of revealing great pins, but leg health expert Kimby Osborne said they deserve more than just a bit of occasional seasonal tender loving care.

She warns that we are neglecting our legs all year round.

"Most women are now aware and familiar with how important it is to pick up on any changes in our breasts to avoid cancer," explains Kimby, a former chiropodist who is now director of training for compression hosiery company Activa Healthcare.

She added: "Yet 90% of us ignore any changes in what is one of the most important parts of the body - our legs.

"By not heeding those warning signs, we are putting our health at risk from, at worst, lifethreatening deep vein thrombosis (DVT) through to varicose veins to leg ulcers."

It's estimated 50% of us are likely to experience leg problems during our lifetime.

"Many people are unaware that aching legs, swollen ankles or enlarged veins mean all is not well with the circulatory system," Kimby said.

"These symptoms shouldn't be regarded as normal and can be alleviated and treated before they trigger worse problems.

"Yet, in general, the reaction of many is to simply lose weight and Fake Chopard Watches put their feet up regularly.

This is totally inadequate."

Around 6.3 million people - 70% of who are women - suffer from varicose veins.

This occurs where valves within the veins do not work correctly, or the vein walls are weak, allowing the vein to become permanently enlarged.

More worryingly, around one in 2,000 people in the UK develop DVT. In the over-80s, this figure rises to one in every 500.

Jeanette Baker, from South Shields, South Tyneside, never dreamed that she was at risk of a DVT, right up until she was diagnosed with a blood clot in her right leg five years ago.

She said: "I was 48 and, as far as I was concerned, in good health.

"Many years before I had varicose veins and I had those injected, but that was my other leg."

Jeanette, then an office worker in advertising sales, said she first knew something was wrong when her right calf began to feel hard.

"I thought I'd done something to my leg," she explained.

"I'd started to limp, but I was ignoring it. I have a touch of arthritis in my knees and I thought I might have dislocated it.

"I made an appointment at the doctors and went to get it checked."

Jeanette's GP measured her calves.

The leg can swell if a clot is present, but Jeanette's wasn't particularly enlarged.

Medical tests indicated something was wrong and Jeanette was immediately referred to South Tyneside Hospital, where she had a scan which showed a clot behind the knee.

She added: "They asked me if I had been on a plane and I hadn't recently. I told them the discomfort had started on the Sunday after I had been sitting at my computer doing some work at

consecration of the United Sta

In es ion the of opin pag this --newspaper, and in the right-wing media, it is now common to hear the U.S. Constitution spoken of as a document somehow anointed by God and therefore meriting a reverence that precludes interpretation, revision or criticism. This portrayal of the Constitution is used to attack the liberal view that the Constitution is a "living document" that must be evaluated in light of contemporary circumstances and societal opinion. It is a portrayal whose rhetorical effectiveness depends upon its ability to appropriate and manipulate religious beliefs in the service of a political viewpoint.

Fundamentalist Christians seem particularly susceptible to this rhetorical tactic. The nature of their religious convictions suggests that they have a deep-seated intolerance of uncertainty and a craving for unimpeachable authority. They value unquestioning faith and unwavering commitment, and they have a tendency to see God as a causal agent in everyday life. It's hardly surprising that they are receptive to political positions that offer absolute assurance of truth, and the opportunity to engage in what they are led to believe is a holy cause. They welcome the news that the Michele Watch Constitution is not just another political theory, but rather a revelation of how God wishes us to lead our political lives. They are favorably disposed to the view that God had a hand in creating the Constitution , and that, just as in the case of the Bible , God's word must be taken literally, not as interpreted by "experts" like Supreme Court justices.

Because persuading the religious right that political issues are really religious ones is not too difficult, politicians and pundits of all stripes, whether believers or not, are adept at the manipulation of the faithful. There are, of course, some ranters on the right who actually believe their own diatribes; who believe that the Constitution, a document written amid controversy and compromise by a group of deists imbued with the principles of 18th century political philosophy, is supernaturally sanctified and the touchstone of political wisdom for all times and peoples. They believe this, despite the fact that it is nonsense.

Replica Jimmy Choo Handbags

Few political ideas in the Constitution were new: the division of authority, the balance of powers, republicanism , due process, the rights of man --all had already been thought of. The Constitution does not establish a demonstrably better form of government than, say, the parliamentary system, and it has evident flaws, which political scientists have pointed out (see, e.g., Levinson, "Our Undemocratic Constitution" ). The founders were no more prescient about the future of the country than one might expect intelligent men to be. They knew that changing times would necessitate alterations in their document; that's why they provided a means to amend it. The fact that there have now been 27 amendments suggests just how imperfect the original document was (and to what extent, as it now stands, it represents not just the wisdom of the founders, but that of the American people.)

Finally, the founders made it abundantly clear that the political and religious realms must be completely independent. There is hardly a more egregious violation of that principle than the claim that the Christian God ghostwrote the Constitution.

Today's most conspicuous , and perhaps sincere, advocate for the Constitution's Biblical stature is Glenn Beck.

Beck, a Mormon convert , shares his sect's inclination to deify the Constitution and has championed the writings of W. Cleon Skousen, a fellow Mormon who was such as extreme conserva

Connors

Patent attorney John J. Connors, Esq. hasemphatically registered his clients' opposition to patent bills (LeahyS.1145 and Berman H.R.1908) introduced in both houses of Congress on April20.

In an early warning letter on March 23 sent to the Honorable John Boehner(R.-Ohio) and other members of Congress and the Administration, Connorswrote, "I am happy to report that our patent system is working the designer shoes way itis supposed to. Trans-national corporations, however, are telling Congressthat the American patent system is broken and needs reform, because the'Davids' who own an American patent can stop these 'Goliaths' from stealingtheir ideas. If anything needs to be reformed, it is the operations of ourpatent office."

As a member of the Orange County Business Council's Washington D.C.delegation, Connors also alerted Orange County's congressionalrepresentatives, commenting, "The proposed legislation would radicallyalter the American patent system in fundamental ways, changing it to lookmore like those of America's global competitors."

Connors, a veteran patent attorney, former manager of a corporate patentdepartment, and corporate director (ICU Medical, Inc.-NASDAQ), explains,"An American patent is much more valuable than foreign patents because ofthe size of the U.S. market and the greater likelihood of winning in court. Many trial attorneys will accept a patent case on a contingency basis, butmost 'Goliath' corporations, want to shift litigation from the Federalcourts to the Patent Office, which would create a legal and economicbarrier to enforcement, making it more difficult for a start-up company tocompete and frustrating a patentee short on money from obtaining legalrepresentation.

"The Leahy-Berman patent bills conform the American patent system toforeign systems modeled after German patent law, which was rooted in amilitary-industrial economy dominated by cartels. These bills areessentially the same as the 'harmonization' patent bill of the early 1990s,calling for a 'first-to-file' system and providing that oppositions togranted patents will be tried before a Patent Office tribunal rather than ajury.

"These foreign systems," Christian Louboutin Bags Connors continues, "also fail to offer theone-year grace period unique to the American patent system -- a provisionthat gives inventors a chance to test their ideas in the marketplace beforespending extensively on patent protection.

"I'm afraid that a relentless public relations and lobbying campaign hashoodwinked many of our political leaders into believing the American patentsystem is irreparably flawed."

Connors is sharing his unique experience in written testimony to theCongressional committees considering these bills, expressing his concernsthat the proposed transmutation of the U.S. patent law will devalueAmerican patents, jeopardizing America's technological leadership andsecurity to achieve (in the words of Senator Patrick Leahy [D-Vermont]"international consistency."

In his written testimony, Connors discusses the advantages of the currentAmerican patent system and points out that the real problem is a backlog ofover 800,000 applications and an overworked and under-trained patentexaminer corps. "The Leahy-Berman patent bills, if enacted, will onlyincrease the backlog of applications," he writes, "because (1) a'first-to-file' system encourages filing many applications coveringundeveloped ideas that may never come to fruition, and (2) Patent Officeresources will be diverted to conducting paten

Play Ball! program fires up baseball enthusiasm in China

wholesale fake D&G buckle belt

By Sportswriter Cao Jianjie

BEIJING, Feb. 3 (Xinhua) -- Three months after first pulling on a glove, Liu Guoliang has turned his back on China's national sport and fallen love with baseball.

"Baseball is much more fun than table tennis," said the 11-year- old Liu, who used to idolize his Olympic table tennis champion namesake and now dreams of playing in a Major League club in the United States.

"My kid is crazy about baseball since I took him to an MLB Baseball Park in October last year," said Liu Wenzhong, an avid sports fan who named his son after the 1996 Olympic champion, hoping the junior Liu would make it to the Olympic podium someday.

The American game also lured Liu's classmates Xiao Qi and Wang Xiaoqiang away from their previously favorite sport - badminton.

"Baseball is more exciting than any other game," said Xiao, who confessed to keep a baseball glove beside his pillow.

Baseball is not ready to replace table tennis in the world's most populous country despite the change of allegiance by schoolboys like Liu and Xiao. But one fact is undeniable: baseball has exploded in popularity in China, thanks to the Major League Baseball's Play Ball! China program supervised by Xie Long (Leon Xie), Managing Director of MLB China.

Four million Chinese play baseball and more than 60 Chinese universities and colleges and 1,000 high and primary schools have their own teams, according to the Chinese Baseball Association (CBA).

A TNS Sports Asia survey shows 16.2 percent of the Chinese population are interested in baseball and about 1 percent are loyal baseball fans. Also, up to 26 percent of Chinese are interested in MLB and its merchandise and the majority of them are young, highly educated and have well-paid jobs.

"Baseball has a bright future in China," said Xie Long. "What MLB China is doing is to get more people playing baseball in China."

MLB launched its grassroots youth baseball program, Play Ball!, in five cities across China in 2007. The program has been incorporated into the physical education curriculum porsche watches for students aged eight-to-12 in 120 elementary schools in Beijing, Guangzhou, Shanghai, Chengdu and Wuxi.

Play Ball! China has reached more than 400,000 people since its launch. The participating students have been introduced to the rules of the game and instructed on developing their baseball skills as part of their in-school physical education programs.

"It was a very good start and we plan to attract more Chinese youth to take part in the Play Ball! program," said Xie, who announced the Baseball Park would tour 10 more cities in China in 2010, bringing the total to 15.

MLB is also thinking about cultivating a baseball equivalent of NBA star Yao Ming. That's why MLB has decided to work with the nation's education and sports departments to promote the sport in public schools and communities, hoping to reach millions of Chinese youngsters and find and nurture future talent.

The MLB Baseball Development ed hardy Center (MLBDC), a baseball academy established in Wuxi, Jiangsu province, in September, is the cream of the crop of such cooperation.

And that's only Act I.

For the second part of the show, a quartet - Jerry Manolas, Dick Gillespie, Sheila Diehm and Loretta Fertal - will recreate "Your Hit Parade."

The Dare2Danzers also will get into the act.

"If I look into the audience and see anyone under 60," said Filkins, who lives in Manns Harbor, during a telephone interview, "I may have to do a little talk about the old days."

Heroes

Walter Suchanoff served our country as part of the U.S. Army during WWII. He returned home as a paralyzed veteran from injuries he sustained in combat. He was one of the earliest students at the Joseph Bulova School of Watchmaking, established to help disabled veterans learn trades and skills to reenter the work force. He went on to become a successful businessman as a partner in RENWALT Jewelers--so successful he established a trust that helped fund the college educations of all his nieces and nephews and their children.

Suchanoff bowled and played basketball. He helped his widowed mother raise his younger brothers. He was president of the Bronx (N.Y.) SCI Paraplegic Veterans Association in 1946.

A driving force in creating access for people with disabilities and removing the barriers, Suchanoff-worked endlessly to change things for the better. His goals were simple: job training, housing, building access, and anything else that allowed paralyzed vets to resume productive, self-sufficient roles in society. In 1946, in a country where disabled access was almost nonexistent, those were some very lofty goals.

I am Walter Suchanoff's niece, and I am a Soldiers' Angel. A 501(c) nonprofit organization, Soldiers' Angels was founded in 2003. Its very heart is the "adopt a soldier" program that sends thousands of letters and packages to deployed American servicemen and-women in Iraq and Afghanistan every month. I joined in 2005, right after my son headed to boot camp.

Over the years, Soldiers' Angels has grown to a full-service organization for deployed military personnel and their families. With more than 200,000 members, it is now the largest organization of its kind in the country.

When a request for help comes in from a company commander in the field, a military family; or a VA social worker, Soldiers' Angels is proud of how often we can help. Each day we see new requests from those who are deployed and urgent concerns for the wounded.

We are grateful medical technology has advanced to the point where we can now save nine out of ten wounded military personnel. Unfortunately this new type of war has new weapons that cause injuries like we've never seen before. The damage can be devastating, often resulting in very long, complex, and painful Replica watches recoveries.

Many soldiers, upon returning to the U.S., are sent to the best facility for their type of injury. These VA hospitals are not necessarily near their homes. Soldiers' Angels realizes the importance of family and mentally supporting recovery, and we have many ways to help: the Valour-IT program (Voice Activated Laptops for Our Injured Troops) helps keep them connected with family, friends, and the brothers in arms they left behind. The laptops can track their medical progress and even help them start taking college courses to start a new career.

Soldiers' Angels also provides flights to get family members to their loved one's side. We offer financial assistance and help cover relocation costs. We can help with transportation and adapting homes. We have teams of Angels assisting and volunteering in VA hospitals and facilities across the country.

We fill VA "wish lists" monthly and work closely with Volunteer Services, social workers, and OIF/OEF advocates. And we are there for all branches of service, all conflicts, and all milit

MLAR Rendell Refuses to Enforc

PHILADELPHIA, July 6 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Shock soon turned to anger as animal advocates attending last week's Dog Law Advisory Board meeting were told by Governor Rendell's Special Secretary Jessie Smith and Bureau of Dog Law Enforcement's Sue West that important elements of Pennsylvania's hard fought new dog law would not be enforced. Almost two years ago, Governor Rendell, at the urging of the General Assembly and citizens throughout the Commonwealth, signed a law that would require among other things that breeding dogs in commercial kennels have unfettered access to the outside (indoor/outdoor kennel runs), and that all dogs over the age of twelve weeks not be housed on wire flooring (solid or slatted floors only). Historically, dogs in Pennsylvania's puppy mills have been forced to spend their lives standing on painful wire strand flooring in too-small cages often without any access to the outside. Governor Rendell's new law was meant to improve conditions for millions of dogs in PA's commercial kennels in the years to come. Instead Smith and West have decided to ignore the Governor's wishes and the new law, by creating a policy that would allow pregnant and nursing mothers to be forced to stand on the now-outlawed wire strand flooring up to six months of the year and deny these poor animals unfettered access to an outside exercise area.

Members of Pennsylvania's animal welfare community are asking for Jessie Smith and Sue West's immediate removal and see their new policy as just one more attempt by the Bureau to protect the Vancouver Canucks commercial breeders rather than the dogs of Pennsylvania. In October of 2009, as the new dog law went into effect, Smith and West issued waivers to 81 of the 111 commercial kennels, exempting over two thirds of PA's commercial kennels from Pennsylvania's new dog laws. Some of these waivers were for up to three years. "The Governor should be outraged by what his staff is doing. If the Governor does want to help the dogs of Pennsylvania, he would demand that his Special Secretary and his Director of Dog Law enforce his new law rather than searching for loopholes to help the breeders keep their dogs on wire flooring" said Bill Smith, founder of Main Line Animal Rescue and an ASPCA Lifetime Achievement Award Winner. The ASPCA permitted HSUS' Sarah Speed to express their opposition to the Bureau's new policy at last week's DLAB meeting. The Humane Society of the United States, United Against Puppy Mills, North Penn Puppy Mill Watch, Animal Law Coalition, Main Line Animal Rescue, and Cumberland Valley Animal Shelter's Nancy Gardner have all expressed their opposition to the Bureau's new policy of allowing kennel owners to circumvent the new law.

"Everyone who worked so hard to pass these new laws in an watches-m effort to improve conditions in PA's mass dog breeding facilities should know all their hard work was for nothing - now that the administration plans not to enforce them" said one angry volunteer who helps rehabilitates rescued puppy mill dogs in Lancaster County. "And after all the Governor's promises, dogs continue to suffer - breeding dogs trapped inside barns in 101 degree temperatures." In spite of Jessie Smith and Sue West's announcement last week that dogs could remain on wire, the two administrators listed breeding dogs removed from wire flooring as one of the Bureau's accomplishments in their 2009 report to PA's General Assembly. As fuel (petrol, diesel and liquefied petroleum gas) forms the biggest share of the subsidy bill, a higher price more reflective of the market price will encourage the public and industries to use less fuel.

This is important because fuel is a depleting resource and if consumption continues unabated, we will soon be a watches-o net importer of crude oil in the next few years. Furthermore, income from fuel contributes more than 50 per cent to the government's revenue.

Sugar is nothing less than a toxic substance. Thus, it makes no sense to subsidise a substance that causes so many health problems when the government can better spend the money elsewhere.

It is important that the elimination of subsidies be part of a comprehensive plan for sustainable national financial management. The government must be seen to cut waste and corruption.
